(Opinions are my own)
As I type this, I’m sitting on my balcony at the Orlando Swan/Dolphin and enjoying a few quiet day before the madness that is the Romance Writers of America’s Annual Conference begins.
The RWA Conference is among my favorite weeks of the year. Partly because there is a unique energy that comes from being surrounded by fellow writers. So often, we creative types spend life a little left of center in regards to our non-writing friends. Here, everyone is left of center! It’s wonderful.
Plus, I learn so much. I am a big believer that no matter where you are in your career, there’s always something you don’t know. This year, my goal is to network and to begin learning the tools I need to take my career to the next level. I’m not 100% sure what those tools are yet or what I see as the next level, but that’s where the networking comes in. There are going to be some amazing, and savvy-as-hell writers floating around this hotel.
If you’re attending the conference and you see me, please say hello! I would love to meet you.
Finally, if you ever have the honor of volunteering for RWA, please do so. This week marked my second year as a RWA Director at Large, and I am both impressed and humbled by men and women who make this organization run.
See You in Sunny Florida
