Snow Day

It used to be that a snow day meant Tattoo was home from school.  So now that he’s in college, you’d think a snow day would involve nothing more than me curled up with my Alphasmart while the snow piled up outside.

Not so fast.  Snow days have brought a new phenomenon here in Empty Nest Land.  It means Captain Pete is working at home.  Since I’m on deadline, we’ve divided the house into half.  Apparently his half has the radio and the phone.  Which means my half has noise.  Since I normally work in silence, this is going to take some getting used to.

On the plus side, we’re taking a lunch break together and it’s awful nice having someone to chat with during the day.  So long as I get my word count done, everything will be hunky dory.

Whoops! Captain Pete just suggested a coffee break.  Procrastinator that I am, I said yes.   (I have a feeling it’s going to take a long time to get these words down on paper.)
