When I published The Suburbs Have Secrets in September, my intention was to immediately write the sequel so that you all could read it this spring. My carefully laid plans had me fast drafting the book during October and November – right before I broke to work on my next contracted Harlequin Romance I got the a nasty-ass chest cold that killed my productivity.
“No worries,” I said. “I’ll finish Sadie in February once I finish my Romance.”
Then my mother broke her hip and required surgery, not to mention continual attention. (Note: Dementia patients do not make the best rehab patients. They do things like scratch at their incision until they get a staph infection.) February became March became April until here I am, on Friday, April 13th and realizing that there is no way I can give you a quality story by May 1.
And you, readers, deserve quality.
So, I’m sorry. I am working as quickly as I can to finish Backyards Have Bodies in between doctor appointments and my day job. I won’t promise a revised release date because frankly, I don’t want find myself writing another excuse-laden apology. But rest assured, Sadie and her cohorts will be back soon.
In the meantime, I can leave you with a little Book 2 teaser. Backyards Have Bodies features three things: Swingers, Stalkers, and Snowmen. *Evil Grin*
Thanks for your patience!
